Sports in our Sports Hall

The new sports hall is suitable for the preparation of professional athletes and for the enjoyment of recreational athletes. It includes courts with moveable viewing stalls, dressing rooms, a state of the art gym, a fitness and martial arts center, and facilities for coaches.

Together with our annexes, the total area of the sports complex is some 726 square meters (33 x 22 m). We are equipped for the practice of various sporting activities and events such as martial arts needing different floor coverings: kickboxing, karate, Taekwondo, judo, aikido and Kung Fu. We can hold competitive events, and recreational games like handball, futsal, volleyball, basketball and table tennis. Within the hall, there are rooms for fitness, Pilates, aerobics and dance. 

There is a gym and a centre for recreation and physical therapy. There is an auditorium for spectators (250 seats) and a number of other rooms for athletes and sports clubs (score board, four dressing rooms, toilets, coffee bar). The hall is located in a beautiful setting and is equipped with LIFE FITNESS equipment. The versatility of this area is reflected in the fact that it also provides the possibility of organizing cultural and entertainment programs (concerts, fairs, exhibitions).

Outdoor Sports

Football

Football preparations at Sveti Martin are the backbone of sports tourism in the resort and they represent a significant share of our total income. Every year we see anincrease in the number of overnight stays of professional football teams. There are two football pitches located in the village of Sveti Martin, approximately 5 km from Sveti Martin Spa. The football pitches measure 101 x 66 meters and have built in automatic irrigation systems and a modern clubhouse with two spacious dressing rooms and several storage areas. The football grounds are very close to the Mura River; surrounded by trees, footpaths and the Mura dam and this creates an ideal environment for quality training.

There is a grass football pitch (50 metres by 30 metres)close to the apartment complex. This location provides easy access and high circulation of people. The football pitch is suitable for spring, summer and autumn preparation, competition, recreation, amateur football and outdoor games. Also, with the organisation of tournaments, friendly matches and the summersoccerleague games, we encourage as many people as possible, especially the young, to get involved in football as a means of developing a better psychophysical condition.

Tennis

Rent of a tennis court on artificial grass (2) or tenisite (2) includes lighting, raquets and instruction. The idyllic surroundings of the courts, right next to the sports hall allows all outside users, members of the tennis club and Toplice Sveti Martin guests to enjoy this wonderful game undisturbed. 

A number of the courts can acommodate a large number of players at the same time and it is possible to organise  singles and doubles tournaments, a summer tennis league as well as inter club meetings with the aim of some friendly companionship,

Volleyball

Beach volleyball is the perfect activity for the whole gang! There is a recreational ground located next to the thermal baths, and you can get the equipment from the entertainment office, which is located on the ground floor of the Hotel Spa Golfer. 

After your game, look for recreational refreshment in the water world, or continue to hang out with your friends with a barbecue (on request) and a party at the pub!

Trekking & Hiking

The hills around the Sveti Martin Spa & Sport Resort are ideal for trekking and hiking and with a bit of luck,you’ll get to meet some of the local people who will show you what life is really like here. Let your body and mind take a complete break with one of the excursions that we organise for you twice a week, on Mondays and Fridays.

The Trim Trail

The Trim trail runs through the forest that connects the Hotel Spa Golfer and thermal baths. It is ideal for morning exercise, sports training for athletes of all categories or for hikers in search of fresh air. It is suitable for all age groups and includes info tables describing the exercises with illustrations.The stages of the Trim Trail contain elements forexercising and improving physical fitness as well as building reserves of body strength.

Golf

True golfers will agree that golf is not just a sport but also a philosophy and a way of life where the symbiosis of nature and recreation is particularly evident. Probably in no other sport, is the dependence of man and nature so pronounced. 

The following golden rule for golfers perhaps best describes the state of awareness golfers have for nature: "I understand that with time, the golf course grows and develops. Trees however do not become smaller. I swear that because of a ball ending up in the branches of a large tree, I will not vent my frustrations on any young tree or bush. "

 

The special nature of the Sveti Martin course comes from its heated greens, artificial turf tee lines, heating under the practice shed and night time illumination, all of which allow play 12 months of the year 24/7 (only 5 courses Europe offer this possibility). 

If weather conditions become unbearable and temperatures fall below zero, you can play "indoor golf" on one of 36 courses worldwide, with the help of the most modern computer simulators, located at the golf house. You could find yourself in Medjimurje, Portugal or California: it’sjust a question of choice…or imagination!

Unlike most golf courses in Europe, golf on the St. Martin course is possible all year round. As a rule, competitive golf is played on a Championship golf course and recreational golf on a public course. Our 9-hole course is intended for recreational play, and during the year, several sponsored tournaments are organized.

Restaurant Vučkovec

Restaurant Vučkovec is the place with the longest tradition within the Sveti Martin Spa & Sport complex and as such, is the ideal location to combine the spirit modern tourism with the tradition of the upper-Međimurje area. The ‘vision’ of this restaurant is ‘antiquity for the eye, the soul and the stomach’. It’s a place where you don’t just drop in by chance but where you come with a group of friends to relax and chat to the sound of traditional folk music. It’s a place where you eat traditional food from authentic, ancient, clay dishes on antique tablecloths together with a glass or two of Međimurje wine all served with heartfelt hospitality by your Međimurje host.

Le Batat

Le Batat is a place which combines flavors of tradition with modern and innovative culinary ideas. Le Batat offers only healthy dishes prepared from locally produced ingredients.  

A la carte Restaurant Martin

Located in the  Hotel Golfer, this a la carte restaurant offers delicious Međimurje cuisine and excellent authentic wines. The kind service and high-quality food are the recipe for an unforgettable gourmet experience. Pub Potkova

Pub Potkova is an authentic pub, which has the best and widest selection of draught beer and live music and guaranteed entertainment at the weekend. The Potkova Pub is a popular gathering place for cyclists and so has earned the name "Bike Friendly Pub" and it is also proud of its guests on all fours – pets are more than welcom ein the pub!

Pool visitors can enjoy the diverse offer of this restaurant in their bathing suits. Enjoy the plethora of tastes and home atmosphere accompanied by excellent service as well as top-quality food and beverages.

Irish pub

Wide selection of the finest draught beers offered in an authentic interior. Live music and special events. Good times guaranteed. There are a few locations in the area surrounding the summer and winter pools where you can enjoy a refreshing drink, sandwiches, pizzas or other dishes prepared quickly allowing you to continue your enjoyable pool experience in no time. Our standard rooms are equipped with everything necessary to ensure you an enjoyable and carefree stay. Each of the 138 modern and luxuriously appointed standard rooms with a French bed or twin beds also offers the possibility of an additional (auxiliary) bed. The glass-walled bathrooms, air conditioning, telephone, safe, mini bar hair dryer, robe and slippers for each guest, free internet and digital TV and video are just some of the elements that will make your stay a totally pleasurable experience. On one side of the hotel, the rooms have a view over the golf course and the summer pools whilst on the other side the rooms look out on the hotel pool and the wellness centre.

These 13 rooms have the same interiors as the standard rooms but each is enhanced with its own terrace looking out on the green, Međimurje countryside and the cascading waterfalls of the Wellness Centre. These rooms also offer the choice of a French bed or twin beds as well as the possibility of an additional (auxiliary) bed. Other equipment is the same as for a Standard room: glass-walled bathrooms, air conditioning, telephone, safe, mini bar, hair dryer, robe and slippers for each guest, free internet and digital TV and video.

Each of oursix, exclusively appointed suites of rooms is equipped with its own steam and Finnish sauna, massage bed, a fireplace in the lounge and a balcony or terrace. Visit the mill on the River Mura

The only floating River Mill in Croatia is a reconstruction of historic mills – of which there were approximately 90 in the area during the 1920s. There is a ferry next to the mill. Walk up to the deer farm

This beautiful private farm is home to between 100 and 120 common deer, fallow deer and mouflon. The star attraction is a deer called “Silvo”, who eats apples from your hands. After a walk we will visit a Wine house and enjoy mulled wine, or a glass of 100% apple juice.
