Chocolate production in Olimia is greatly connected to Alfonz Videtič who was a confectioner at the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th. He was employed in Vienna until 1915 when he was forced to bring his work to a halt due to shortages of cocoa trees and other imported ingredients. His descendants revived his methods through the first 90 years of the last century and in Olimia the production and sale of chocolate continues.
The methods of production have remained the same over the years with the workers making the chocolate by hand. Thus, each and every piece is unique with a distinctive taste and a texture that melts in your mouth.
The palette of products which come from the chocolate shop in Olimia is very wide and includes pralines, griottes, truffles, ganaches, chocolate bars, caramelised fruit, crocantes, volte figures and many other chocolate treats.
